Terms of Service

Last updated: 17 March 2026

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account or using Alejandría ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Alejandría is currently in public beta. Features and pricing may change. We will give reasonable notice of any material changes.

2. Description of the Service

Alejandría is a personal knowledge library that allows you to save, read, annotate, and export web content. The Service includes a web application, browser extension, and Telegram bot integration.

3. Your account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must provide accurate information when creating your account. You may not share your account with others or use the Service on behalf of multiple people under a single account.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service to save or distribute illegal content
  • Attempt to circumvent any security measures or access controls
  • Use automated tools to scrape or bulk-import content in a way that degrades service quality for others
  • Resell or sublicense access to the Service
  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose

5. Your content

You retain full ownership of all content you save, create, or annotate within Alejandría. We claim no intellectual property rights over your content.

You grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store and process your content solely to provide the Service. This licence ends when you delete your account.

You are responsible for ensuring that the content you save does not infringe third-party intellectual property rights. Alejandría is designed for personal, non-commercial reading and note-taking.

6. Data portability

You may export your entire library — articles, highlights, and notes — to Markdown at any time, for free, from within the application. We will never charge for data export or make it deliberately difficult to leave.

7. Beta service and availability

The Service is provided in beta. We do not guarantee uptime, and features may change or be removed. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of major disruptions or deprecations in advance.

We are not liable for any loss of data caused by service outages, bugs, or beta instability. We strongly encourage you to export your library regularly as a backup.

8. Pricing and billing

The Service is currently free during the public beta period. When paid plans are introduced, we will give at least 30 days advance notice. You will not be charged without explicit consent.

9. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page. All your data will be permanently deleted within 30 days.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, after giving reasonable notice where possible.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Alejandría is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (which during the free beta is zero).

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Spain.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms at any time. We will notify you by email at least 14 days before material changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after that date constitutes acceptance.
